Alex and Me, Irene M. Pepperburg, PhD, Harper 2008. Dr. pepperburg’s adventures with her African Gray parrot were not easy at all in the beginning for many reasons, but they persevered and showed the world just what the term birdbrained means and how smart animals actually are.
Animal Spirit Guides, Steven D. Farmer, PhD. Hay House Inc. 2006. The author describes the totemic symbolism of many common and slightly exotic species.
Animal Speak, Ted Andrews, Llewellyn Publications, 1993. Native American traditional animal symbolism. The author describes different ways of connecting with the energy of animals through use of traditional means.
Behaving as if the God in all Life Mattered, Machaelle Samall Wright, Perelandra Publishing, 1997. The author is an amazing amalgam of wit and off the wall with a crazily deep intuitive side. She intuited the concept of co-creating before that phrase became something of a franchise in and of itself.
Becoming Animal: An Earthly Cosmology, David Abram, Pantheon Books, New York, 2010. I could call this book a true handbook for many of the concepts I put forth throughout my writings here. Mr. Abram explores the concept of we humans being first and foremost animals in our being and as such offers insight into how we penultimately process our surroundings. Brilliantly written. In fact it is this book that inspired me to add the category of Nature Assisted Inspiration to this project!
